Started of at least 15 mins late, but they don't use the net chip timing. Arghh....If not can collect a free mizuno backpack (coz under 5 hr 15min)...

Pay a price for being late....at least gt a free mizuno pouch!

The route for Shanghai marathon is confirm plus chop much more xiong than Spore Standchart marathon....So many long long upslopes! Esp. the killer last 10km! But with upslopes there are downslopes too!

And here, they are realli chop chop! super strict on the timing....once 6 hrs is up, they start keeping everything. And i thot they would let u continue running until 6 hrs is up, but no lor, they stop u along the way if ure too slow. Hsemate gt picked up at 28km mark at ard 3hrs plus! gosh....liddat not considered slow leh, still can finish within 6 hrs mah....crazy organisers....luckily i didn't get picked up...was slightly ahead only, 3hr 45min was at 30k mark only...

Countdown! 7hrs to Shanghai Toray Cup Marathon!

In 7 hours time, am sooooo gonna be deadmeat....haas....

Nvm, shall just go there haf fun, sightsee while running....and try to make it back in 6 hours!! hopefully....*cross fingers*....if not, will not get timing and they'll open up the roads, argh.....6 hours is like sooooooo not enuf!!

Super shocked when i noe how many pple are running the marathon. 2602 guys...and 351 girls!!! gosh, might even see no one around u while running....

The runner list in a booklet! And my name's on it. The name after mine, is a Singaporean too! Din see another other singaporeans or maybe they register under team names...


My number tag! 3881! The tag is rather huge!

And the super cui race pack! Actually nothing much except for this cui string bag and a shirt....

Hopefully will have sports drinks....but the drink stations is so super few!! every 5km!! arghh....

And the start and end point is different! And quite far away somemore. So how to retrieve baggage at the end of the run?? Needa run with mrt card?? Arghh....

I'm gonna run in jacket and shorts!....haas....weather forecast for tmr: 9 - 12 degrees. might get too hot while running leh, but when stop to walk will be damn cold, gahhh.....dun wear will too cold, wear will too hot....mah fan....

Kiwi Plucking Trip! @ 枫泾古镇

Welcome to 枫泾古镇!! An ancient water town near shanghai. Less known, and hence also less crowded and commercialized than the other well-known water villages, like zhouzhuang, tongli, wuzhen, etc....

Water villages are known for their water canals and bridges! Managed to capture 2 of the 3 famous bridges of 枫泾 in this photo, while standing on 3rd bridge....Not a nice shot of the bridge though....haas....

And this is the super duper yummy 芡实糕!! 枫泾特产! Freshly made and cut into thin slices. Tastes chewy but also quite powdery....dunnoe how to explain, but its super nice! Taste like one of my favourite snack during chinese new year, tt is like a yellow biscuit, but taste very powdery.

Comes in a total of 7 flavours: 桂花(cinamon) , 花粉, 草莓, 绿豆, 芝麻, 核桃(walnut), 八珍(made from 8 types of herbs). The nicest is the 桂花!! Followed by 花粉!

Todae's highlight was kiwi plucking!! Originally supposed to be strawberry plucking, but the strawberries not ripe yet, still a lil early for the strawberry season. Nvm, kiwis are nice too!

The kiwi field looks veri barren, but don't belittle it. Look closely and you'll see the brown kiwis dangling on the leafless branches.

But but...each person can onli pluck 1 kg of kiwis back!! Which is abt 8 kiwis only.

Other than kiwis, still have many other fruits at this farm, including peach, grapes, and even veges also. Even got people fishing. And look at the black swans they rear. This place gonna develop into a resort / chalet area nxt year.

The countryside is realli nice. Peaceful and calm. People living simple lives. Saw farmers setting their fields on fire, burning the dried leftover from last season's planting. And farmers pouring and spreading out their rice on the roads!! To dry them and perhaps for cars to run over them and open the ungrounded rice?? Hmmm....someone told me tt, dunnoe if the cars realli run over the rice anot...haas

human beings are difficult to understand...

never knowing wad they are actually thinking....say one thing, but mean another....

y can't pple juz be simple, frank, straightforward.....

Hangzhou Cycling Trip!!~~ 15th Nov '08

Having previously been to Hangzhou, i almost didn't want to go. But a Cyling Trip was too tempting! Only thing missing was little tiga doggie in my bicycle's basket.

Highlight of Hangzhou trip: Cycling ard 杭州西湖 ! ~

5 yrs no see, almost forgot the beauty of 杭州西湖! Even prettier than 太湖!

Cycled to "坊河渚" 美食街!

南浦大桥 Running Adventure!! 13th Nov '08 (10.50pm - 12am)

An unforgetable 南浦大桥 running adventure-cum-disaster!

A run frm our 龙阳 home, across the grand 南浦大桥, up and above the 黄浦江 river and down the never-ending 2 layer rotanda frm 南浦大桥 to ground level...

BUT on the way back.......

Ganna stopped by the police! "你们这是在破坏社会秩序!" And we ended in a police car, heading for the police station!! Apparently, running on the bridge is forbidden.

But luckily the police were quite kind. They let us off at the end of the bridge. And even show us where to take cab back home. What a close shave! Phew!

Probably one of the very few to experience running across the 南浦大桥, before getting caught. Haas...

Now, all plans with running destinations at puxi haf to be cancelled. arghh...unless we set off early and train across to puxi. Hmmmmmm.....

all the best for those having exams! including my sis.....first exam in uni.....i remember it was damn scary to me back then....

8 more weeks of interning @ sba stone forest

9 more weeks to returning home
