looking back, today one year ago feels so different...
how time flies, seems like many things happened during 2009....
the return back to spore...the adjusting back to school life....the final semester (like finally!)....the adjusting back to db trg....the last race as a school team....the long wait to start of real work...the interesting temp job while waiting....the fit mad gyming days....the start of real work!....the wks of trg, and tests!....the every 2 wks new team, new client, "first day of school" feeling....db racing as alumnae....and then the nua unfit days....the rather fun stocktakes....and then its 31st Dec once again!
soooooo goodbye 2009! Welcome 2010!

4.5 days + last 2 trainings to race!! Sooo fast!

Last 2.5 days of freedom! Starting work on this thurs (hopefully no trg on thur :X)
Argghhh, toooooo fast toooo fast!
Haven't finished figuring out the pivot table and revising GST! And haven't really studied for final theory test on 9th Jul (hees, ooops i still haven't kicked my habit of procastination!)
Previously been complaining of being too bored everyday, but now tt work's starting soon, argghh....not exactly looking forward to it! haas. But it does sound like an interesting job!
Went for 2 interviews, and was asked double entry questions! Scary shit! Realised how important aa101 & aa306 was.
Thks to suilinn and her cousin!! Haas, managed to get a 1,500 temp job =) Yay!~
Gotta get used to sleeping less and working for 8 hours! Been doing nth but eat, sleep, train these days.

a surprise chat on msn with a collegue (who sat beside me during gip china internship in the accounting deparment)! =) trying to type chinese in msn and replying super slowly! haas, so long since i typed chinese again.
the only close china friend at my internship company in china. would have been so bored at work if not for her, the times when we keep complaining of boredom and nothing to do at work, the going to kedi or familymart to buy 盒饭 for lunch. can't believe we may never see each other ever again, but who knows the future. though work is getting busier, hope u are happy and doing well =)

finally got down to doing the gip report! finally done and submitted! =) those gip days seems like a wonderful dream long long time ago. Sent nicole off at the airport on Mon, the lucky girl is going to Sweden!!
one by one, i'll clear up the mess! too many things undone....reminds me of the pa report!! arghhh....soooooon, haas....
glad tt my sis is ok! =) health can be so unpredictable at times.

sch has started! and wk 1 has juz gone by....
moved backed into hall on tue.....and the feeling of stepping back into sch was quite weird...
the feeling of attending tutorials felt even more weird....the super lack of concentration during lessons....the dumb brain sucks at thinking and analysing....gotta buck up and focus!! last sem!!
and my reading speed is super the ultimate SLOW....arghhhh....can take hrs just to read a few pgs.....argh....=(
glad to share a room with my younger sis though! and the cooking in hall! which is more convenient coz our block is up the hill!! but the washing is toooooooooo mah fan....haas...
arghhhhhhhh....haven't done anything concrete in the past 5 hrs!! FOCUS!!

Cycling!!~~~~
Finally, it's time for cycling with my tiga doggie again!! =) Cycled to Jurong Lake and went to superbowl for dinner. But the super nice roasted chicken wings stall is gone!! =( It moved to somewhere else le after the place renovated.
And my fitness has dropped quite a lot! Argh...
Hopefully it won't be weird tmr! Maybe I shouldn't go at all, but arghhhhhhhh....

Back in Singapore!! And i had yummy minced meat noodles and laksa for supper just now!! Spore food is still the best!
My luggage was 31kg!! Took me 20mins, instead of the normal 5 mins, to lug all my luggage frm hse to maglev train. Damn cui, stopping ever few metres to change hand...but i made it to the train!! haas....
Just realised how clean Spore is! Used to feel that all those talk abt Spore being a 'clean and green' city is nothing much, but now I appreciate how clear the air here is. Spore is so much more comfy, no more constant breathing in smoke frm smokers, no more being pushed and squeezed, no more fog constantly covering the sky!! yayy!

The last few moments of 2008. And I'm spending it, home alone, in Shanghai.
Looking back at the year 2008....
The first part of 2008 was a big disaster in terms of studies, my worst sem ever. Terrible time management, many overnight project meetings and naf committments, causing many sleepless nites, hiting a record high of 41 hours without sleep (Feb 15), 32 hours (March 13), etc..the super lack of concentration during lessons...and ultimately the super lousy results.
Things turned for the better during the holiday break.
Meet very nice colleageus during my internship at EY BRS whom I really enjoyed working with, and whom also taught me a lot! Those fond memories doing internal audit at NYK! :) A much manageable balance between internship and training during the holiday break, compared to 2007, due to the restrictions against night rowing.
Had fun training with pheonix, rowed my last race with the team without regret. Will miss those days! :( But it is a trade-off i chose.
In 2008, I stepped into adulthood too!
The days of maddness golfing with my dad before my 21st birthday (when my privilege to use the golf course under my dad's membership will cease). As much as I complain, due to the tiredness from golfing cum training, I miss those days of golfing too. When will be the next time I get to play in a golf course? Guess it'll be 10 years? Or maybe even never ever...
And the major part of 2008, GIP China! A long awaited wish come true! :) And a much needed break from studies, after 2 consecutive sem of overloading 27AUs and 25AUs, and especially after a horrible sem. Had my share of fun and slackness.
And now its time to face the year 2009! One last semester and it's time to officially step into the workforce!
For the year 2009, my new year resolutions are to:
1) FOCUS and study hard for this last final semester!! Can't afford any more screw-ups. Dun wanna end with any regrets. Had my share of fun for the past 5 months plus and now its time to settle down and really focus on my studies.
2) Have better time management!! STOP Procastinating! Haf sufficient sleep and concentrate during lessons! The coming sem gonna be yet another challenge, 4 accounting cores + 1 BAF core.
3) Face studies & work with enthusiasm!! Give my very best in whatever I do! And enjoy whatever I do!
4) Keep fit!! Which I really lack now! And without DB trainings anymore, I need more discipline to exercise frequently and maintain fitness!!
With that, it's time to now step into the new year 2009!! Let us welcome and embrace the new year with courage!
Here's wishing everyone a "Happy New Year!" =)

Officially: 5 hr 27 min!
Actual: abt 5hr 12 min! =)
Started of at least 15 mins late, but they don't use the net chip timing. Arghh....If not can collect a free mizuno backpack (coz under 5 hr 15min)...
Pay a price for being late....at least gt a free mizuno pouch!
The route for Shanghai marathon is confirm plus chop much more xiong than Spore Standchart marathon....So many long long upslopes! Esp. the killer last 10km! But with upslopes there are downslopes too!
And here, they are realli chop chop! super strict on the timing....once 6 hrs is up, they start keeping everything. And i thot they would let u continue running until 6 hrs is up, but no lor, they stop u along the way if ure too slow. Hsemate gt picked up at 28km mark at ard 3hrs plus! gosh....liddat not considered slow leh, still can finish within 6 hrs mah....crazy organisers....luckily i didn't get picked up...was slightly ahead only, 3hr 45min was at 30k mark only...

In 7 hours time, am sooooo gonna be deadmeat....haas....
Nvm, shall just go there haf fun, sightsee while running....and try to make it back in 6 hours!! hopefully....*cross fingers*....if not, will not get timing and they'll open up the roads, argh.....6 hours is like sooooooo not enuf!!
Super shocked when i noe how many pple are running the marathon. 2602 guys...and 351 girls!!! gosh, might even see no one around u while running....
The runner list in a booklet! And my name's on it. The name after mine, is a Singaporean too! Din see another other singaporeans or maybe they register under team names...
My number tag! 3881! The tag is rather huge!
Hopefully will have sports drinks....but the drink stations is so super few!! every 5km!! arghh....
And the start and end point is different! And quite far away somemore. So how to retrieve baggage at the end of the run?? Needa run with mrt card?? Arghh....
I'm gonna run in jacket and shorts!....haas....weather forecast for tmr: 9 - 12 degrees. might get too hot while running leh, but when stop to walk will be damn cold, gahhh.....dun wear will too cold, wear will too hot....mah fan....

Kiwi Plucking Trip! @ 枫泾古镇
Welcome to 枫泾古镇!! An ancient water town near shanghai. Less known, and hence also less crowded and commercialized than the other well-known water villages, like zhouzhuang, tongli, wuzhen, etc....
Water villages are known for their water canals and bridges! Managed to capture 2 of the 3 famous bridges of 枫泾 in this photo, while standing on 3rd bridge....Not a nice shot of the bridge though....haas....
And this is the super duper yummy 芡实糕!! 枫泾特产! Freshly made and cut into thin slices. Tastes chewy but also quite powdery....dunnoe how to explain, but its super nice! Taste like one of my favourite snack during chinese new year, tt is like a yellow biscuit, but taste very powdery.
Comes in a total of 7 flavours: 桂花(cinamon) , 花粉, 草莓, 绿豆, 芝麻, 核桃(walnut), 八珍(made from 8 types of herbs). The nicest is the 桂花!! Followed by 花粉!
Todae's highlight was kiwi plucking!! Originally supposed to be strawberry plucking, but the strawberries not ripe yet, still a lil early for the strawberry season. Nvm, kiwis are nice too!
The kiwi field looks veri barren, but don't belittle it. Look closely and you'll see the brown kiwis dangling on the leafless branches.
But but...each person can onli pluck 1 kg of kiwis back!! Which is abt 8 kiwis only.
Other than kiwis, still have many other fruits at this farm, including peach, grapes, and even veges also. Even got people fishing. And look at the black swans they rear. This place gonna develop into a resort / chalet area nxt year.
The countryside is realli nice. Peaceful and calm. People living simple lives. Saw farmers setting their fields on fire, burning the dried leftover from last season's planting. And farmers pouring and spreading out their rice on the roads!! To dry them and perhaps for cars to run over them and open the ungrounded rice?? Hmmm....someone told me tt, dunnoe if the cars realli run over the rice anot...haas

Hangzhou Cycling Trip!!~~ 15th Nov '08
Having previously been to Hangzhou, i almost didn't want to go. But a Cyling Trip was too tempting! Only thing missing was little tiga doggie in my bicycle's basket.
5 yrs no see, almost forgot the beauty of 杭州西湖! Even prettier than 太湖!

南浦大桥 Running Adventure!! 13th Nov '08 (10.50pm - 12am)
An unforgetable 南浦大桥 running adventure-cum-disaster!
A run frm our 龙阳 home, across the grand 南浦大桥, up and above the 黄浦江 river and down the never-ending 2 layer rotanda frm 南浦大桥 to ground level...
BUT on the way back.......
Ganna stopped by the police! "你们这是在破坏社会秩序!" And we ended in a police car, heading for the police station!! Apparently, running on the bridge is forbidden.
But luckily the police were quite kind. They let us off at the end of the bridge. And even show us where to take cab back home. What a close shave! Phew!
Probably one of the very few to experience running across the 南浦大桥, before getting caught. Haas...
Now, all plans with running destinations at puxi haf to be cancelled. arghh...unless we set off early and train across to puxi. Hmmmmmm.....
